- Let's get started and say hello Retirement can be daunting, there are a lot of lifestyle, health and financial decisions to filter through. Here at Robert’s Retirement Advisory, we aim to guide you on the financial part and make the complex simple. Click here to get in touch with me. Feel free to tell me a bit about yourself, where you are now and where you want to be. We will either pencil in a time for a catch-up or I will be able to point you in a direction to get an answer to your query.
- Catch-up This is where we can meet up, either in person or via video call. We start by getting to know you and your goals. Based on this, I will then give you a fixed cost for a proposal for your financial plan. The catch-up meeting is on us, if you decide you want to proceed with the proposal – that is when the next costs will start. The total cost will vary on complexity and what is needed, the cost will be fixed and in some cases can be paid from your investments or via an invoice (please see FAQ section for more information about costs).
- Creating and presenting your personalised retirement project plan This is where I then take all the information you have given me, go away and do some further research. This will include talking to your existing super fund providers and getting the sometimes hard to find but important details. I will then analyse your current position, where you want to be and compile a Statement of Advice which is a formal document that will demonstrate my advice to you. The Statement of Advice will incorporate everything from a detailed strategy, product/investment recommendations and projections of how we think your financial situation will look (i.e. if you are on track to meet your retirement goals).
- Implementing your plan I have by now recommended a strategy with moving parts to it. Rest assured as I can now assist in putting everything in place. This will involve me liaising with super funds, Centrelink or it could even be me speaking to your Lawyer or Accountant to make sure your plan and pathway moves as smoothly as possible.
- Reviewing your plan The plan is in now in motion but life happens and things change. If you decide to be part of our review service, we will make sure that you are guided through retirement whenever there may be a difficult financial decision or reviewing the original plan that has been put in place.

Founder and Operator
Robert’s Retirement Advisory was established to provide sound financial advice to everyday Australians who are looking for help and guidance navigating the financial aspect of planning for retirement or those who are already retired. There are already a lot of other challenges people face whether that may be lifestyle or health challenges when retirement is discussed.
We aim to be a trusted source to help assist and provide clarity around the financial challenges in retirement. Some challenges pre and post retirees face along the way is not knowing how long their funds will last, whether their investments are positioned correctly, what will happen with their estate plan, how to begin to deal with Centrelink or their superannuation fund - this is where we step in to provide advice and implement the advice to give clients the best possible outcome and more importantly peace of mind so they can live their retirement with one less stress.
After working for over 7 years in the financial planning industry, I have gained valuable knowledge and could see there is still so much room for financial advice to develop and grow to ultimately provide a better outcome for clients. So seeing this need I have developed Robert’s Retirement Advisory in 2024 as a “go to” spot for those who are wanting financial advice they can trust.

My Services
Services specific to retirees to help take the stress out of retirement.
Pre retirement planning and post retirement planning
I provide advice to clients both before and during their retirement. I aim to maximise tax savings where possible, ensure investments are in line with your needs and consider how we may be able to improve other outcomes for areas such as Centrelink and your Estate Plan.
Keeping Centrelink in the “know” with your situation
This is never usually a fun task – however I can step in here and look after this. I provide advice on Centrelink strategies and also assistance with applying and keeping Centrelink in the loop on an ongoing basis.
Being a sounding board, always a phone call away
When there is change, it can be hard to know where to go for advice – pick up the phone, give me a call and let me know what’s on your mind. I try to be as accessible as I can be and ready to listen and help if required.
Help define your income needs with expert advice
This is what you need to live on, whether it be right now, in retirement or both. I will consider other income/expenses that may be planned or unplanned whether that be buying a car, downsizing or even upgrading your home.
Building a strategy that considers tax outcomes
I will consider all avenues, whether that be tax personally, tax paid inside your superannuation or tax that the next generation might pay i.e. your Estate.
Put the wheels in motion, consolidating a plan
You may have superannuation accounts, pension accounts or life insurance policies all over the place. This is my expertise knowing how to build a plan and getting all your product providers in sync to what you need.

Beyond super fund fees and returns
By Robert Daniele
Like most Australian’s – everyone is shopping around for the best deal on everything from a better phone plan to better returns in superannuation and low superannuation fees. Now this blog is not advice, it is just general in nature like all my blogs. I reference CBUS superannuation as an example and am not commenting on whether they are a good …

Making the most of concessional contributions
By Robert Daniele
In Australia, as at the time of writing – the current annual cap for contributing money concessionally to superannuation is $30,000 per year. A concessional contribution to superannuation is a contribution that is generally a “lower tax” than what you may pay if you receive the income and pay tax at your normal marginal rate. Obviously in most …

Financial Information Service Officers compared with Financial Planners
By Robert Daniele
Financial Information Service Officers provided by Centrelink/Services Australia can help provide factual information in some situations but often get confused with a financial planner. What are your fees?
There are no fees to the initial consultation.
From there I will be able to provide you a fixed cost of what it would be for your personalised “project”
Please refer to our financial services guide for more information.
Worked Example Costs
I like to make fees easy and simple to understand so please contact us if you have any questions.
Our fees for initial advice start at $3,300 and are generally no higher than $8,800.
Note – these fees will be confirmed and fixed in the meeting – the amount will depend on complexity.
Our fee for our review service starts at a flat fee of $2,500 plus $300 for every $100,000 of funds we manage (rounded down to the nearest $100,000).
Worked Example Situation
Jane is 67 years old, single, has $330,000 in superannuation and recently retired.
She wants advice around setting up an income stream from superannuation, helping with the age pension application process through Centrelink, making sure her investments in her fund are working for her, financial modelling to see how long her funds will last.
Jane would pay in this instance $4,400 for a Statement of Advice – this will include the written advice and implementing the above strategies (i.e. setting up an income stream and helping with the age pension application process).
If Jane wanted to ensure her finances, Centrelink and strategies were looked after on an ongoing basis and be a part of our review service she would pay $3,400 p.a. (i.e. fixed fee of $2,500 plus $300 for every $100,000 we look after rounded down to the nearest $100,000).
